War

Give a fool an inch
He will strive to take a mile
Gift a man an army
See the bodies start to pile

Power breeds corruption
But perhaps the greatest mystery
Is how often it’s abused
To seure a place in history

In war there are no victors
Among the dead we number
Who would dare to question why
The reason they forever slumber

I was pleased to read that you enjoy writing poetry.Today I came across a stack of mine.A very long one was Soliloquay of a Ten Pound Pom.
It's about leaving the NE and my family in 1962 when I migrated.
