Thanks again to the 'Britain from above' website for the use of their images. As usual Ive added locations to help 'get your bearings'.
A couple of years after this photo was taken 'C' had the Windermere Cres estate built on that land.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Amazing to see so much of Hebburn just open land. Not like today!

Hi Norman, what search criteria did you use to find this aerial view? I remember my dad told me Enfield Road was surrounded by fields many years ago. Thank you for sharing this photo.

Sorry but I didnt see your post until now. 11-30am Saturday.
I remember Hughie Doran from my days at St Aloysius & motorbike days in the early 60s. You are obviously linked to Hughie? daughter or wife????
If you click the LINK it gets you onto the 'Britain from above ' website. To be able to zoom in on their images you need to register.
