I discovered this about my old St Aloysius Teacher Mr Carroll just recently ie 60+ years after leaving school. Early 2026 his grandson bought one of my 'Good old Hebburn' books as a present for his dad Roger which has resulted in me learning what our old Teacher did not many years before teaching us kids in the 1950s.
Not sure if the scan of a Book that mentions Mr Carroll in it is readable though.

Norman,
really interesting, I had no idea the Joe Carroll was even in the RAF during the war.
I would recommend a book called "Mosquito", written by Rowland White and published by Penguin (ISBN 978-0-5521-7800-6) which covers many Mosquito raids including the 213 Squadron raid on the Kunstzaal Kleykamp Art gallery.

Do I remember Joe Carrol' I certainly do. In the prefabs one day we had a snowball fight and Mr Carrol threw a snowball which hit me smack in the right eye and blinded me for some 2 weeks.
