A view in Newcastle's famous Bigg Market from 100 yrs ago & I dont think its changed a lot since.

I’ve seen this photo previously but it never fails to amaze me as to how many people are gathered there and nearly everyone is waring some kind of headgear. Lovely.

The town hall is long gone and the market itself has disappeared from a 4 day market to nothing after perceived improvements

This is a wonderful photograph and thanks to Norman for searching it out and so many others like it. They are amazing with so many people making up the composition. Am I alone in also enjoying the spectacle when AI is used to bring features such as this to life. When photography first appeared in the early 1800s, I am sure there would be those who condemned it as an afront to the true artistry of the painter with his brush. Surely there is room for the imagination and skill in application of the phenomenon of AI. Of course I am aware of the danger of fake exploitation. This has been with us long before modern technical systems of which I write. Every cinema we ever visited is an example.
My words do not intend to take anything away from the joy of viewing the photograph show here on this posting header. Just a thought I would like to share.

You’re definitely not alone in that George. I love those Ai films. I think Norman might’ve put a link to one or two also.
