An old photo i have from circa 1902 showing the Congo Cycling Club, Jarrow on Bede Burn Road. Congo was short for Congregational and was part of the Congregational Church.

It took me a while to remember it as the accommodation facility for Jarrow Police situated on the junction with Field Terrace.
It is still there and looks now like an attractive place to live whilst retaining its grand features.
