A cracking grade II listed building! However it was only granted in 1982 after being built in 1872. It was a gift by Andrew Leslie, shipbuilder. Sandstone, Gothic architecture but too much history to put here!

A 1973 view in St Andrew's Presbyterian Church.
Its' still standing & looking well, but been a Buddhist Meditation Centre/Temple for many years.

I as born in the corner house directly opposite the Church with the junction of Ellison Street.

My Scottish Granda Robert C Dunn came down from Old Kilpatrick to get work at Leslies not long before WW1. He lodged at 69 Ellison St with the McGregors. Could that be where the Hardy's lived in later years Mac???
I think Mr McGregor had something to do with St Andrews. ( in the 1910 rates list his name was Bulloch McGregor)

Where I was born was on the opposite side of the Street to 69, directly opposite the Church. what a coincidence because I used to live with my grandmother Cherry at 69 Ellison Street when I was only about 3 to 8 before moving with my parents into 1 Bluehouse Road.

Two things I always remember, getting my first bike when I lived there and lying in bed at night listening to ‘The Man in Black’ on the radio, absolutely terrified.
