I wonder what went on behind those grim looking walls. Who worked there and what did they do? Not a lot of people around but the presence of a traffic policeman indicates it must be busy on occasions. Difficult to date the photo but the car in the distance may be from the early 50s. Thanks for another thought provoking photo Peter.

It all looks a bit depressing there, like George says not very busy, could be early morning, but the presence of a Policeman does suggest it must get quite busy.
