Thanks for posting your Drone views Ian.
I took the liberty of adding some locations to this one with the Church below. Ex Pats wont recognise the Town now.
Colin in Oz asked if his old Cuthbert St area was still there a while back so I sent a google earth view & its trees trees trees where he and my Dunn grandparents once lived..

I recall being at the county hotel as best man at Peter Cash and new wife Beryl's wedding reception..Not so man-years after that he drowned at the beach.

Amazing to see how much that part of town has changed. So many houses there now!

So different from when I lived in Hebburn.

Where are all these people going to send their kids to school, visit the doctor or shop for their groceries?

Hebburn has lost all its Industry and we don't know where young people are going to find jobs.
When factories like Baker Perkins, Tube Works, Reyrolles, Bushing Co, Whites engineering,RW Transmissions, Bitumastic, Pyrotenax closed soon afterwards Houses were built on the land.

Good question AJG. No schools being built. No extra doctors. Lots of new children's nurseries so it is obvious the children will all need schooling. So sad what seems like no future planning. And Hebburn shopping centre doesn't draw the crowds. I imagine the new folks don't know anything of Hebburn's history and dont need to. They just need somewhere to live and probably shop out of town or get home deliveries. These new folks bring children with them and what,as a town do we offer young people where they can meet up socially? Nothing. Rant over. 🤭
