Weekend header at the Beach

This is the hottest ever June in the UK, so we are off to the beach for the weekend.
The postcard is pre WW2 .

Lovely photo .Oh so like how we would have looked I would say 70 years ago .Same beach it must have been the thing to sit in a group men shirt and ties on and a cap.That photo to me is in my mind can still remember it always a large group big families .Happy days .Even before the war just the same as when we went .

This is a wonderful photograph. It shows lots of people who, having arrived don't know what to do next. Everyone is dressed to go home. The girl standing up on the left wearing the tea cosy, she wishes it was all over. The chap in the cap has had enough and is off to the pub. Great stuff Norman. Love it.

Remember my nana sitting down on the sand no chair she always carried her purse in her hand a strong memory of the purse opening coins every where .So good this site would never have come to mind with out the photo .Norman thank you .

Makes you wonder what the attraction is of sitting in sand. It gets in your sandwiches and is a bit of a nuisance to get off your feet. It is lovely though and we all have fond memories of sand castles and sea and lots of fun as kids.
We go down to the seaside in West Sussex where we live quite often and when the tide is out walk along the sand by the sea. The beaches are mostly pebbles and they’re not much fun to walk on 🤣
