Beginning of the week in Shields Park

A view that a lot of us have seen when we've been 'Down Shields'.
I used to love going in one of those little motor boats on the South Marine Park lake with my dad early to mid 1950s.Sometimes he let me drive it

Remember them Norman, used to feel so grown up driving them, unfortunately now they have the pedal boats, only way I can describe them starts with a c ends with a p.

It was a Saturday after noon treat for me when visiting my Grandparents in Henry Nelson Street.
I think that in relative terms it was quite expensive for once round the Lake
