B.P.V. 2 heading back to Palmers at Jarrow in 1942 after trials having been converted from a landing craft to a Beach Protection Vessel. She was built by Tees-Side Bridge & Engineering Co. Ltd. at Middlesbrough and launched 11th August 1941. She was completed as BPV2 and then renamed LCF2 late in 1942 (LCF being Landing Craft Flack) she was armed with 8 x 2pdr Pompoms and 4 x Oerlikons. She was sunk in action 17th August 1944 off the Normandy beaches. The photographer was W. Parry, Victoria Terrace, South Shields.
