We didnt always go to the beach for the sunshine

A lovely photo Lilian Flack nee Beatie gave me 20+ years ago of her in-laws at the beach.
Sometimes those generations went to the seaside just to get away from the smoke & pollution in our Towns and take in some fresh sea air.
Can you remember the black sandstone churches that smoke & pollution caused? That same air was being breathed in by those generations.

About 20 years ago I met Joyce Beatie at a school reunion. Could her parents or grandparents be on this photo?

Hi George,
Lilian Beattie lived in William St, Hebburn and married Hebburn man Eric Flack.
That photo is Eric's parents .
