We all played on the then named REZ or reservoir on mill lane. I am almost garys drakes dad had a demolition company and that company blew it and filled it in.Was quite spooky inside. The remaining soil that was piling up into a hill lay like this until the land was cleared to make st joesphs court. Many happy memories of playing on the REZ. I also used to help the farmer burn the field which is now Victoria road industrial estate.

Yes, I do miss my hometown, probably more as time goes on even though I haven't lived there since the 1980s. I visited regularly during the 1990s, but only a couple of times since then.

It's amazing to see how much Hebburn has changed over the years, with almost all the Newtown flats gone now and so many new houses everywhere. So very different from when I was growing up. People moving to Hebburn now have no idea what it used to look like.
