Not a car or bus in sight, wonder who the corner shop belonged to at that time , Bob Hudson had it in the fifties,??????

Still in Good shape

Despite their age these house are still in good condition.
They are a tribute to building standards at the time and to the people who have lived in them and kept them in good condition.
Compare that to the lack of longevity of some of the stuff built in Hebburn in the sixties

We just need to look at our churches that were built in the 1800s to see how great the craftsmen were in those days.
We still have many streets full of old but well built houses whilst Flats and maisonettes built in the 60s are gone.
