Rip off Britain

Posted by Thomas Buglass on 2/9/2026, 1:52 pm

As we know, the UK has the Bayeux Tapestry on display in London until July next year. The ticket price £33 is absolutely disgusting. Ticket price in the Bayeux Museum in France is only 12 Euros. No wonder we call RIP OFF BRITAIN

Be a lot more than just displaying it cost of transport, insurance, and probably a lot of staff involved, if I was in London I certainly wouldn't mind paying £33 to actually see a piece of history.

Saw that back in June 1989 (attending the D-Day celebration) and it IS magnificent.

Stan, no way seeing it on the internet is the same as acutely seeing it in person.

I saw it when on holiday in France a number of years ago and I can say it is worth while going to see it whilst it is on display here as it is amazing.

Nice to see, but as Rhoda, and others, have said, a photo of something, or online, just isn't the same as the real thing.
