Teenagers' Antisocial Behaviour

Posted by AJG on 7/9/2026, 8:37 pm

I have been reading some pretty shocking accounts of antisocial behaviour by teenagers in Britain, stealing from shops, gangs harassing passers-by in town, riding around on e-bikes etc. It sounds like very little is done about it by police.

How much of a problem is this in Hebburn these days?

We rarely see Police in our area AJG.we might see a Police car drive by but that's about it.
The idiots on E bikes know this and do whatever they want with no fear.
We had a popular shop called Farm Foods in the Newtown but because of theft by scum running in, grabbing something and running off with their free goods the business got sick of it and closed down.
It's a bit lawless now due to the lack of Police.

I haven’t seen it but have been told that the recently refurbished Play Area in Hebburn Park has been destroyed and parts set on fire by mindless thugs !

I saw something about that vandalism on one of the local Facebook groups. 😕

Unfortunately Hebburn has always had a bit of a scumbag element to it; there has always been vandalism and so on. I was wondering if it was getting better or worse with all the new houses there now.

I remember reading about all the thefts from Farm Foods. Absolutely shocking that they had to close because of it. And the police either couldn't or wouldn't do anything about it?

I imagine the thieves have just moved on to Aldi or somewhere else now. 😡

Shoplifting doesn't get charged unless goods with a value over £200 are taken. A prolific shoplifter can lift over £1000 of goods and not get touched.

Far left leaning socialists and anarchists believe Police and Prisons should be abolished . It seems we are moving towards their goals.
