Butch Cassidy's Link to Tyneside

Us 'Geordies' have a little Link to American outlaw Butch Cassidy.( of Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid fame)

Butch's real name was Robert LeRoy Parker and he was the son of a Newcastle lass Ann Gillies born 1847 in Hill St opposite where St James Park started in the 1880s. The family then moved to Jesmond but when she was 9yrs old the family emigrated to Utah after converting to being Mormon's. She later met and married Max Parker and when just 19 yrs old she had a son Robert Leroy Parker alias 'Butch Cassidy'.
