E bikes

Posted by Thomas Buglass on 26/9/2026, 9:51 am

Breakfast TV this morning news clip, police forces are auctioning seized E bikes. I would have thought they would be destroyed as they would have been tampered with in some way. So much for them wanting them off the roads.

Many (Not all) riders of these bikes are a dangerous menace, riding wildly on roads and pavements, no tax , number plates or insurance, the riders of such should be prosecuted and the bikes scrapped !

On yesterday's news here in Australia they showed all the bikes being turned into "mincemeat" - tiny bits of metal!!!

Sadly lots of owners are buying batteries from China and causing fires when being charged. A family of three died in a fire recently, once more thought to have started by a dodgy battery charging an E bike.
