Interesting that in the archaeological account, the ‘hunter gatherers’ were on the scene before the “farmers” but were seen as or felt “inferior” as they were nomads who fled or were pushed further into the forests as the agrarian people (or farmers) cut down the forests and expanded their territories and civilizations.
Also Interesting to note… those who wrote the biblical account of creation did not realize that “cattle” arrived later on the scene, as they were domesticated by the farmers, but thought they were created and here from the beginning (even before Adam and Eve), while the archaeological account reveals that the “farmers” and “cattle” evolved or came AFTER the ‘hunter gathers.’ So… a bit mixed up there.
Also, the biblical ‘God’ was said to have favored Abel’s sacrifice (of meat) over Cain’s sacrifice (of grain), because he preferred meat over grain. However, note that Cain (the grain farmer), who murdered his brother, Abel, in a jealous rage… was said to be the OLDER brother… as if agriculturists (or farmers) came BEFORE the ‘hunter gatherers’. So, the writers of the bible thought “cattle” and agriculture were here from the beginning… but that Abel (the ‘hunter gatherer’) was the younger but superior brother because he herded and offered meat… which ‘God’ loved or respected more. Still mixed up! It would seem by the archeological account here that the hunter gatherers (or meat eaters) would have been the jealous ones, as they were dumped into their graves haphazardly instead of the way the grain eaters were placed in their grave, carefully and with respect.
