It does seem kind of odd

We don't have any around here, but in central Indiana around Purdue, there are hundreds of them. Some of them are bound to be in the wake of others.

How far downstream would everything settle down? I know that countries are smaller in Europe, but you would think that in 10 miles or so, the air would calm down.
