NWS was alive and well.

Eastland didn't "evacuate" ... he and 27 others under his responsibility died because of his failure to respond to the NWS Warning and act in a timely manner.

There was plenty of time for all 500+ campers to evacuate and seek higher ground before the flood hit the camp.

Also, his camp's policy of no cell phones was a major contributing factor in deaths.

The river rose a total of 20 feet, raged and flooded at night within minutes.

The subsequent search rescue response was valiant, virtually immediate and widespread, and continues, but the drownings, injuries, damage and destruction had already been done before daylight on July 4, 2025.

Mother Nature is no respecter of politics.

No president is "responsible" for acts of Mother Nature. What's important is how they respond afterwards. Big difference there.
