Seems like there are shootings every day. After I thought about this, at least two shooting appeared in the news today. On the average, more than one person a day is shot and killed in Chicago. This is life as we know it.

Hatred abounds. It is everywhere. The left hates the right. The right hates the left. People run for office on a platform of hating the other side. Tonite, there are some celebrating because of who got killed. If it were the other way around, it would be no different.

We definitely live in a world where this is no hope. Just a couple of years ago, we were told we would all die of Covid if we didn't do what the government told us to do. Children are taught that they will inherit an oven because of the global climate panic. People lie without even giving it a second though, if they believe it will benefit them. Some children are taught that they will become happy if they just castrate themselves. Years later, when reality hits them in the face, it is too late. Where is the hope and peace?

While money can keep a person from starving, too much of it certainly doesn't bring with it hope. There are countless numbers of rich people that turned to drugs because the money didn't bring them hope. Some die.

So, where is hope and peace to be found? It is found in the name of Jesus Christ. He is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. He came to take away the chains that bind us, that rob us of hope and peace. He was scoffed at then, just like He is today, just like his followers are today. But, He is faithful and true. Someday he will come to put an end to evil and suffering. That is what this song is about and why there are a lot of us looking forward to his coming again. What a great and beautiful song this is.
