Kids raised wholly on Disney without the benefit of Tolkien and C. S. Lewis are missing the real life lessons needed to help them cope as adult human beings.

When my kids studied in Europe they were very aware of the advanced education their counterparts were given, things not fully appreciated in much of American education. This article reminds me of the discussions we had when my kids returned.

The word “ shallow” comes to mind.
