When Walt Kelly drew that comic strip it was an Earth Day message with an environmental emphasis, but the application is broader.

It goes to my belief that our country is suffering in great part because we spend so much time talking about symptoms and so little about the disease. An example is how people expect and believe that government is the root of our problems and so also the potential solution to our problems, forgetting that it is “of the people” and “by the people”.

A democratic government can be no better than the people.It represents. It is more than obvious that as our culture has morally corrupted, so has government.

This is exactly what Charlie Kirk’s message is, and why so many of our youth are listening to it. They know we are in big trouble morally first, and the symptoms that follow are the proof.
