Let me explain. I am not religious.

My Understandin of the theme of the Bible, the thread that binds it into a single word, human salvation, from Genesis through Revelation, is a personal experience. It’s about your mentioned history as the prelude to the mess we witness today, as prophesied upon a future existential era. That era is now. But for the key stone having been reset back into the niche in 1948, I would either give your opinion sway, or think it’s early and yet to be fulfilled. Well, it’s fulfilled, Israel is resurrected. I call your attention to a tiny sliver of land with maybe 8,000,000 inhabitants and its enormous impact upon current global events. Not the least of which is literally directing the US to do her bidding, a strategic geopolitical blunder for the US. The US is isolated. Israel is isolated. Our allies are isolated unto themselves. Something big is fomenting. Revelation 17 and Revelation 18 is all about what that event is. So, while your view of the aggregate chapters and verses by men and human history, in your opinion disqualifies the legitimacy of the theme’s fruitfulness, my unreligious opinion is the Bible is God’s construct. Some force, creative, the bringer of light and life, knows our human psychology better than we know ourselves.
