Ours is 8 years old with 55,000 flawless miles. It will easily make it to 10 or 12 years. We also have a 14 year-old BMW X3 2.8i that is in great shape, but BMWs are rather high-strung and maintenance-intensive.
I would buy another XT5, but I have had enough of BMWs (6 since 1977), and Mercedes Benz has become just another humdrum jellybean with average looks and performance. I'm sure Lexus is a good brand, but I don't go for Pacific Rim brands, and I have made it thru life without a Chrysler heartache. Ford has reliability issues compounded by financial problems.
GM rules the domestic roost, and Toyoto dominates the foreign market.
Not a single mechanical problem. Paint and interior are almost showroom new. Original battery. New tires at 45K miles.
I would normally be looking for a new vehicle after 5 or 6 years, but this one is so strong that it would be a waste of money to trade now.
Carmax and Carvana offer a decent selection. Don't fall for that 4-cylinder turbo crap. The V6 is the deal.
Roomy, comfortable, very peppy, good mileage (33@60, 28@75), great handling, regular gas, low maintenance, awesome styling. Fun to drive. Solid construction. Safe.
Proudly made in Middle Tennessee in a high-tech UAW shop.
