Why are atheists so arrogant?

Is it because they don't know better?

My (not-inconsiderable) arrogance is unrelated to my atheism.

There's nothing to be arrogant about in a largely non-volitional leap of faith.

We are more intelligent.

They are mostly “intellectually challenged.”

The do as I say, not as I do mindset is astounding. Leering down their noses while spouting off their belief as truth is simply illogical, and quite boring after 10 (or 10000) times.

I have story after story of what I was told to do, and what those people were doing right in front of my eyes.

Devo, You seem to be stereotyping again, which is usually wrong. Now explain just which atheists are you claiming to be arrogant. Also, how is that better or worse than religious people like yourself being arrogant in your own posting here?explain as you normally avoid doing here.

Christopher, I have yet to meet an atheist who has any shot at honoring the 10 commandments.

It’s easier for them to say there is no God.

Gustavo , Strange but most that I know of are as abut as moral as any believer. Not believing is not being anti-Deity.

Obeying the 10 commandments doesn't make one a Christian.....but that's not bad.

Getting baptized doesn't make one a Christian....but that's not a bad thing.

Being a member of a church doesn't make one a Christian.... still not a bad thing.

It is Who that is one's heart that makes one a Christian. And what comes out of one's mouth is a good indicator of that.

GOG, Strange in war, artillery bombardment, mortar fire, rocket fire, as well as under rifle fire in attempted ambush, I never experienced this alleged foxhole syndrome you talk about.

I did watch a chaplain lose his faith, however. Now that was a sad sight, for it ruined what he could do for those he was supposed to help spiritually. Now, not everyone went through that.

On the whole, I question what effect war had on anyone's belief, or lack of belief. Personally, it made no effect on my lack of belief.

I started rather certain that I would likely get killed. I got over that fear quickly enough without the need of belief in a deity. And I have no belief that I was brave then, nor now. Nor have my several serious illnesses has caused any need for a deity.

Now, if others need a belief in some sort of deity, I have no problem with that.

Ya take someone who is in a desperate, no-way-out, death is imminent situation, and they plead to a god, or if you prefer, God.

Is that true belief or is that simply being scared sh!tless?

Then there are those who have lost their faith because of the horrors of the foxhole (I have known some).
