Crime rate is going to go up . When people are hungry they will do whatever is necessary to survive.

So taking away their Foodstamps ect .. Will it be cheaper on you or your insurance company when the stealing increases .These goverment safety net programs that were just drastically reduced helped keep crime rates down. I believe everyone who reads this is you were very hungry and had not ate in days you would do whatever is necessary to survive.
I don't know what the crime rates are, past and present.
I do think that social programs are abused and that should be stopped. Having said that. . .
There are many different ways to terrorize people. Some do it deliberately with guns, bombings.
Some do it in the name of greed. Oh, terrorizing is not the intention, though it is the results. The money grabbers turn a blind eye to that.
Take away someone's ability to survive - dump them out of their job, take away their basic health care, evict them from their housing, make housing insanely unaffordable, when they are old and in declining health turn a blind eye to their inability to meet their basic needs, allow a system whereby parents can no longer feed or shelter their children . . .that will scare even terrorize a person.
And desperate people do desperate things.
I would love to save the world and all those who are deserving. I recognize we are a country of limited means - we don't have an endless fountain of money and resources. But there is no denying that we have group of people who, for them, never have enough. A million dollars isn't enough, which then turns into the want of millions, and then billions. . .
The wrong people are in the power. That is not just a statement about today's administration. There have been past administrations that are guilty as well - the endlessly greedy, the indifferent, the callous, the cruel. . .they are not limited to certain groups. They will infiltrate and take over wherever they think they can.
I don't believe in allowing the abuse of social programs. Getting rid of them is not an answer either. I also don't believe in having a system that allows massive greed. There needs to be limits and controls on both sides of the equation. Its a balancing act - not easy to achieve, but surely the 'leader of the free world and defender of human rights' can do a better job then presently.
I think the horse has been let out of the barn long ago. We screwed ourselves. As my mother use to like to say, "The devil always gets his dues." The question is: who will end up paying the price?
Too bad about 20,000,000 illegal invaders attaching to the nation’s
"The provisional estimate of 11.7 million for 2023 is still below the historic peak of 12 million reached in 2008. The population grew by about 800,000 from 2022 to 2023, about 200,000 below undocumented population growth in 2000-2001, as shown in Figure 2."
The unauthorized immigrant population in the United States grew to 11.0 million in 2022, according to new Pew Research Center estimates based on the 2022 American Community Survey, the most recent year available. The increase from 10.5 million in 2021 reversed a long-term downward trend from 2007 to 2019. This is the first sustained increase in the unauthorized immigrant population since the period from 2005 to 2007.
However, the number of unauthorized immigrants living in the U.S. in 2022 was still below the peak of 12.2 million in 2007.
While these new arrivals probably increased the U.S. unauthorized immigrant population, it remains to be seen how much. New arrivals can’t simply be added to the existing estimate because some unauthorized immigrants leave the country every year, some die and some gain lawful status.
