I asked google this question: "does google ai ever lie?"
It said: "AI Overview Yes, Google's AI can provide false or incorrect information, a phenomenon known as "hallucinating". It does not lie in the human sense, as it lacks intent and consciousness. However, it can confidently present fabricated or misleading information as fact. "
