Say-Jesus-shows-up-out-of-nowhere-and-says-you-get-to-choose-between:

1.-Being-totally-physically-healed-and-health-restored..or

2.All-your-sins-are-forgiven?

To 'show up,' he would have to exist

I don't believe I would need to be absolved of all my mistakes or sins to get into heaven.

Usually I don't worry about my sins. I just try to learn from my mistakes and not make the same mistakes again. When I realize I harmed someone, I apologize to that person.

My biggest concern right now is my health. I'm getting old. I notice my declining health whenever I move. I am not as young and healthy as I was 20 years ago.

The thought experiment stipulates that Jesus Christ "shows up." Not someone claiming to be Jesus Christ, or even someone that might be reasonably believed to be Jesus Christ. No such qualifiers are in place. It's Jesus.

Thus, under the stipulated conditions, I would believe this to be Jesus Christ. For that to occur, either knowledge conditions have been met (which I actually consider impossible for existential determinations of deities, but let's go with it) and belief would follow necessarily from recognition of that fact, or there is such an enormous mass of non-probative evidence that it's Jesus Christ that my non-volitional leap-of-faith would surely be that at least these core elements of Christianity are true.

The choice is also presented as a binary. You pick one or the other, not both...you have to "choose between." This is critical. The option to take the health fix, then accept Jesus as savior, confess your sins, etc. is excluded by that language.

Under these conditions, I would obviously be in need of forgiveness for my sins. I am not, on the other hand in any pressing need of miraculous improvements to my health. I am in generally good health, and am quite fit for my ever-advancing age (I'm still a pretty serious cyclist...). This is a no-brainer for me, really.

I have never had any issues with mental or emotional health (if that is even a real thing).

I have had cancer. It sucked. I don't want to ever have it again. Right now I am very healthy and I would like to stay that way.

I deal regularly with skib cancers ..most burned or excised off . Had MOHS surgery for one on my back... Too deep for treatment by normal means...I have an 8" scar from the surgery and sutures used to close the wound...it took months to heal and was painful throughout the process.

I was fortunate it was basal cell each time for me.
But I've cared for many cancer patients in my profession...and many stages, types, treatments , and pain. To say it's just all overwhelming I can certainly speak from experience as a patient and caregiver. Optimizem is a timed luxury for a high percentage of most of us. May you live long and we'll.

I've been out of the caregiver role in the ICU for a few years now...call it PTSD... retrograde recall of poor physical, emotional, and difficult experiences strike raw in me still in instances of memory... I know where of you speak, I honestly do.

That disease has no care or concern for it's invasive, many times terminal, and disruptive nature.

There is mental and emotional health...tho the objective symptoms are mostly only seen in physical degradement. As you can say how you may not believe in them ..good luck with that... I'm sure those around you that care about you might just disagree. They're as real as love.

Maybe not measurable... But undeniable.
