YouTube is now profiting from promoting drug abuse. Is that moral?

YouTube has been showing me ads for nicotine pouches. Nicotine pouches (Zyn, On!, Velo, etc.) are newer products, and digital platforms like YouTube fall outside the traditional broadcast‑media bans. So the ads are legal.

Would it be moral or reasonable for me to ban YouTube from all my forums if they continue to promote drug abuse?

This is the message I sent to YouTube:
"zyn nicotine pouch ads promote drug abuse. Stop showing me those ads or else I will stop watching youtube and I will tell all my friends to stop watching youtube and I will ban youtube videos from all the discussion boards I run."

Thanks for your input. YouTube has a lot of good music. This one is from the movie about a small town that banned Rock 'n' Roll and dancing.

I smoked tobacco from age15 to 30. Enjoyed every puff. I knew its lung cancer and heart dangers. Knowing the downside makes a difference. I quit age 30. Two packs a day. What’s your downside?

Most drugs have some medicinal Use, but they should not be Abused.

NOT for amusement, but for therapy.

I drive for work. I remember giving a long ride to a man who was talking to his friend about nicotine pouch addiction. He was addicted to nicotine and having trouble quitting. That ride was about 4 years ago, but I still remember him describing the trouble he was having. It seems like a dangerously addictive drug and YouTube should not be promoting it.

The downside of Capitalism is the abuse so often seen with immoral marketing claiming “free speech” as a right. Karl Marx wasn’t wrong about everything, even if his basic premise was totally wrong!

Some people post too many YouTube videos without even adding their own comments. Maybe they need a break from YouTube.

Maybe I won't need such a ban. YouTube stopped showing me the Nicotine ads. Maybe they finally got my message.
