GREAT day out there today!

HUGE turnout, and the best part… There were NO counter protestors that I saw... and this in a supposedly ruby red state!

There were very few police that I saw, but they did block off the streets at one point so that the huge crowd could march through the streets without hindrance or problems. We were chanting "Hey Hey, Ho Ho, Donald Trump has GOT to GO"... and also someone would say "What does democracy look like?" and the crowd would say "THIS is what Democracy Looks Like!"

Great people, all kinds of people, great signs, funny signs... One said "There are no illegals on stolen land"... very salient point. Some were handing out whistles and told us to blow them if we saw ICE agents. We saw NO ICE agents... at least not any who would dare want to be identified as ICE agents!

A great day of unity and clear message. Donald Trump has GOT to GO.

Probably a few dozen. And others of the same group taking pictures of them with the historic courthouse in the background. Definitely not locals, but they caused no trouble. None that I could tell. We went through town around noon and when we came back through a half hour later, the place was deserted.

A good deal for everybody. A nice trip to Amish country. A demonstration with pictures, and then probably lunch at some Amish themed restaurant. And our local folks got their money!

It’s a bit of a drive for us, but a nice drive. They have a big greenhouse and sell some great veggies, flowers, etc, at very good prices, so we go there at least once or twice a year. Very nice people. They have a white board on the wall that they put messages on. I took a picture. Here’s what it said…

People are often unreasonable and self-centered.

It only benefits those who get rich off of it, while putting everyone at risk.

The Palestinians didn't deserve to be pushed off of their land. The Jews didn't deserve to be pushed off of their land, either, but the Palestinians didn't have anything to do with that. Doing the same thing to the people who occupied Palestine that Hitler did to the Jews didn't solve anything, did it? And it never will.

Israel has offered a peaceful resolution hundreds of times and was rebuffed EVERY TIME.

It is like this: Israel accepted the UN 1947 partition agreement. Palestinian leaders rejected it, without offering a counter-proposal.

I agree with the message, but I'm not sure what protests like that accomplish.

I was stuck in traffic in downtown Los Angeles for about 10 minutes yesterday. About 6 freeway offramps were closed to keep the protestors off the freeway. That could be annoying and make people stop supporting the message.

for one, connection. People with people (not in front of their computer screen) supporting people, raising their voices in one great song

Second, people SEE first hand that they are not alone in their feelings. They meet others of a like mind, may make a few friends along the way.

Third, it opens more discussions and reinforces WE THE PEOPLE over "we the politicians"

The 15 million criminal aliens Biden and Harris let invade our theretofore sovreign nation are the sole reason for current action by ICE. That's the equivalent of 18 new cities the size of San Francisco stealing resources from those unemployed moochers as well as kids and hardworking families.

Obama deported over 3 million illegals, and nobody said a word.

It may have annoyed a few people like you, but the vast majority of cars passing the protestors lining the streets (before they blocked some off for the march) were honking their horns in support of the protestors. Obviously, many (even drivers) thought it was important to be supportive of the movement to save democracy, so I don't think most minded the inconvenience.

Have you never seen streets blocked off for cycling or running events, or for parades or other events that the community felt were important? Do those events annoy you, too?

We've had the streets blocked off for homecoming (school) events in the small town I live close to, causing us to have to go around or out of the way. While it may be an inconvenience, it never really bothered me to avoid or go around.

Had it been the opposite party supporting our duly-elected President ...

Many in the Republican party have fomented hate, fear and division for a very long time, so that they can abolish free and fair elections and democracy, and hope no one notices... all to give tax breaks and other perks to billionaires while running our debt and deficit through the roof and also cutting medical care and food assistance to the working poor. These are not normal times.

After seeing some of the posts here, I think you may be right.

Peaceful protest is obviously legal here in USA. Here in USA people are allowed to disagree with how our leaders run the government.

I drive full time for work, so I see some things from that viewpoint. That's why it bothers me when people cause traffic jams. The Los Angeles Marathon did cause much worse traffic than any protest.

The budget deficit scares me. We are leaving debt for the younger generation, and we are cutting spending on their educations.
