I still have a hard time accepting death as my fate.

You did not mention your age. Maybe you are 25.

Maybe you are 80? If you made it to 80, count your lucky stars and God. The thing to wish for is a comfortable death. If not that, then a quick surprising demise as in a massive heart attack. And the good thing is you won’t recognize that you are no longer any longer.

How does one imagine the total absence of everything? "Will I dream?" is a question about death used in literature
and indicative of the problem. How do you conceive of the absence of consciousness.
I think that this truth accounts for the appeal of many religions, specifically those that offer a continuation of the human experience in an alternate form.
To be clear, I can't do better than anyone else in imagining that total absence.

But not yet ready to embrace the eternal abyss. One has good health or one has nothing. All the possessions, money, fame, all dumped into nothingness. It’s nothing to be afraid of, literally. You won’t know you were ever alive. That should be of some comfort.

On the mend. But, I’m avoiding human contact as much as possible. Sad. I don’t think it’s a normal virus. IMO something’s loose. Stay well!

I'm not religious, so I don't believe in heaven.

Life is finite. Maybe we should focus on doing the most good while we are here. We can leave a better world for the younger generations.

Imagine a process to "fix" any and all cars. Impossible because cars are incredibly complex. Human bodies are millions of times as complex as humans, so no conceivable process can fix all the problems of age: Possible modes of failure of a hyper-complex machine.
