Are motorcycles evil? Should they be destroyed like in New York?

Advantage: Motorcycles are a good way for the poor to combat high gas prices.
Disadvantage: Some motorcycle RIDERS go too fast and crash.
Advantage: Motorcycles are a good way to get past bad traffic in New York.
Disadvantage: Motorcycles can be used by criminals to escape the police.

Now the gun haters in New York also hate motorcycles. Now they are destroying motorcycles. Instead of stopping the human criminals, they are focusing on the objects the criminals use.

The police seem proud of how many motorcycles they are destroying, instead of reselling them for a profit.

The reporters did a bad job here. They should give a more balanced report and talk about how useful motorcycles are. They should mention how motorcycles can be used by the poor to beat high gas prices.

The "Nanny Culture" strikes again. The government assumes that we are NOT SMART ENOUGH

But some of it's not the reporters' fault. That official using the term "illegal motorcycles" didn't help. Neither having people commit crimes while riding them nor the bikes not being properly registered makes them "illegal motorcycles." It looked like those were just normal scooters that were properly homologated for legal sale in the US as street-legal vehicles. It's not like they were "grey market" imports that aren't certified for US sale (which would actually make them "illegal motorcycles"). Idiotic and deliberately inflammatory use of language...

Destroying fuel-efficient vehicles that reduce road and parking congestion instead of figuring out how to get them into the hands of people who need them is also pants-on-head stupid.

Here is some brain malady among the general population. My guess is the medical term is “woke”. Who else would be so stupid as to attack the conveyance rather than the purse and cell phone snatchers. Execute a few, publicize it. That might help. Of course these same nut jobs hate carbon spewing autos, too. And that conveyance is used for bigger jobs than purse snatching.

Bikes are rad. Nearly affordable and storable.

Last time I rode, when I went from asphalt to sand
and me n the bike went down, it put me in a position
that made it very difficult to lift the bike off my leg.

Getting home was the last time I rode.

I think the electric bikes available are major
amazing, but I miss affordable fuel and the
sound of a motor on the road.

so I've had a lot of small low speed accidents.

I'm still riding, but I'm getting old and slow.

Electric motors could be tuned to make a nice smooth turbine like humming sound. Maybe they could sound as good as gas engines, but in a different way.
