How bad is the US National Debt, and what should we do about it?

Graham Stephan usually gives good advice, but I think he underestimates the severity of the problem in this video.

After WW11 we had a big debt but we were able to quickly reduce it when the war ended.

Now we have a similar debt, but the causes are different. Now we can't just “end the war” to reduce spending and get out of debt. Now we are in a big mess with no easy way out.

Now we have:

• No “event” that ends and resets spending
• Aging population
• Rising healthcare and Social Security costs
• Interest payments exploding
• Political gridlock preventing reforms

“We”. Let’s talk about the elective wars. Afghanistan 20 years.

The MIC had been bleeding us dry since Vietnam. No end to the lofty rationales for warfare. Indeed, the “Defense Department” has returned to the original name, the War Department. Then there is the 10 plus $Trillions gifted to the so called elites during Covid, allegedly to save them from bankruptcy. It smelled of extortion. I could go on. I see the list of ‘reasons’ for why the massive deficit. Blame the people? No. The fact is there is no “we”. It’s them. Their grift and fraud has bankrupted all of us. It’s not my debt. I balance my books.

Cutting Federal spending and gradual paydown will eliminate the national debt over time.

But politicians LOVE deficit spending for some idiotic reason.

It would also help if Corporate America paid their fair share of Taxes

Cut Military waste
Cut goverment fraud
Wars should be paid for by war bonds not politicians raising taxes and oil prices to pay for them.
We need to start mining our mineral resources
Corporate welfare is out of hand.
Goverment pensions should be on a 401 k plan just like the people who pay for goverment pensions.

Maybe throwing out the illegal freeloaders would be a start. Like in Minnesota where $bBillions are stolen. Yet has anyone been held accountable? No, because the politician received campaign monies from the thieving illegals. A massive global NGO operation was funded by USAID. Basically a network of grifters with the woke goal of subverting our nation’s Constitution. $Billions of dollars for at least the past 10 years. Ken’s article is a deflection, making the people the cause of the bankruptcy. Screw the author.

Statistics I read: 59% on public assistance.
