Congress passed the largest housing affordability bill in decades.

Owning a home is supposed to be part of the American Dream, but many hardworking people can't afford it. It's nice to see congress finally agree on something and take action.

Congress has passed the largest housing bill in decades, with the House of Representatives approving the landmark legislation 358-32 on Tuesday.

Passed by the Senate a day earlier, the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act brings together a wide range of provisions aimed at making housing more affordable and encouraging housing construction.

Congress and government in general should stay out of the housing free market.

Every time the governments get involved in subsidies, and in providing physical housing using taxpayer monies, the market gets distorted. No different than government involved in grocery stores. Woke stupidity.

The bill reduces regulations, so they are taking some government out of the free market.

"While the legislation doesn't provide new federal dollars for homebuilding, it streamlines some of the regulations homebuilders must follow to get existing federal financing.

For example, it allows builders to skip the environmental review when a housing project is going up between two buildings that have already gone through the process.

Sounds like the path to cheap shoddy throwtogethers.

I could easily buy a house in another state where homes are cheaper.
