A total stranger wished me a happy 4th. I was shocked.

Totally unexpected. Of course a reciprocation was offered. The thing is he seemed half hearted. He came across as a bit depressed. Monotoned lack of spirit. Still, it was pleasing to hear and gave me hope that hinterland America continues the patriotism, unlike the Yankee cities.

Thank you. I went to a small town celebration. Was a lot of fun. Even went to a church.

Actually a neighbor invited me. Said he was going to sing. I went and he did sing, Patriotic songs such as America the Beautiful. I stayed for the sermon out of respect. First house of worship for me since 1964. Brought back memories.

It was mete and right so to do.
