Clearly, the Union was morally right and the Confederacy was morally wrong. It is that simple.

Probably the South as they were slaveholders. My Great Great Grandfather was 17 at the end of the war, but I don't know if he, or his father fought in the war. He later helped found a town in Texas

My mother’s side fought against the British in 1776. They also fought the Yankee invasion into Virginia. One might suggest that the South was right of center. The North, as usual was full of the woke. They caused the Civil War. Estimate 645,000 dead and wounded. And where did this get us? 60 to 70% of the nation’s crime (arrests) statistics belong to the children of former slaves. That’s a fact. Racist? I think not. It’s just how it turned out. Maybe you would like another civil war?

Not sure if it was Mom's father's father or grandfather that fought for the North and survived. Don't know any details other than that. Mom's mother's family were most likely war resisters.

Dad's side of the family didn't get here until after the Civil War.

What I side would I fight on? Neither. Because of what Christ did for me/us, I don't believe in fighting wars.

On a side note, my wife's father's father's mother's step brother was in the army and died at Little Big Horn in Custer's last stand. Don't know details other than that.

All my ancestors came from Europe. They were not in USA at that time.
