I didn't want to start a new thread about this video, so I am posting in response to my old post.

Maybe I'm biased against Waymo because they take work from human drivers like me.

Maybe Waymo should add an external panic button for for pedestrians and emergency responders to press and quickly contact a live person at Waymo.

They can save money be eliminating the human driver, but that doesn't mean it's safer or better.

I trust a driverless car more than 50% of the idiot drivers I see daily.

New technology? Baker Electric went bankrupt in 1915. Fisker went bankrupt in 2024.

Lordstown Motors and several other EVs went belly up in the past decade. More to come. I predict Rivian will meet its fate eventually. It has never made a net profit. Polestar will probably go bye-bye too.

Most sales of EVs are to first-time buyers of these novelty items. Repeat business is required for market sustainability.

As for self-driving vehicles, lawsuits and liability insurance will eventually kill the market.

Mark my word.

I will probably buy another "badged Chevy" Cadillac when my present 2018 needs replacement. So far, after 8+ years & 60K miles, the exterior and interior are in virtual showroom condition, and the maintenance other than 1 set of tires, oil, wipers & filters, has been replacement of tire pressure monitor sensors.

I may also get a new MB AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet.

None of those were self driving. Did you forget the point of Ken’s post already?

Lawsuits and liability insurance will kill the self-driving market. Just wait.

In the meantime, please find me a self-driving V8 gas vehicle with a 6-speed clutch-shifted manual transmission. I want one. LOL

If AI gets its way everything will be “driverless”.
