Watching Freud’s last session with Anthony Hopkins as Freud.
Freud just said, “Bloody hypocrites. There’s so much pain and in this world. Is this God’s plan?”
Yes?
Pain and suffering and death seem necessary, thus Jesus?
Seems a terrible plan.
No?
This is all brought about by the actions of man, and not part of the plan ?
Seems to lack omnipotence and omniscience.
Actually it’s part of the Plan.

It’s, as are the laws of physics. Evolution at its finest display. Touch fire, and one gets burned. Lie, cheat, steal, and one gets marked. So too is civilization and all of us degraded. The Bible is all about winnowing each individual through Christ Jesus. And the very first book of that Truth is painful. It foretells the reason for God’s acceptance of Abel’s gift. That is about flesh-sacrificed as the metaphor of humanity and salvation. No fruit nor seeds, nor anything of the field would suffice. Fast forward to the cross. There it is, a human for a human, a sacrifice of the flesh. Why? For the Spirit. For human life as eternal. And most importantly, for God to walk in companionship with mankind. That is the Plan. Good luck pagans.
20 years ago my father passed away. Six weeks later my mother died in my arms.
As I held her body and realized life had left it, my thought beyond and through the shock was that her suffering was over, yet it did little to foster my belief in the most loving and compassionate nature of the God-creator.
Yesterday I looked around and saw more than a sufficient amount of poverty, illness, pain, suffering, mayhem, deceit, destruction, and murder to last ‘til Thursday.
