About Del Lago Academy:
Del Lago Academy is a public high school in Escondido, CA, dedicated to providing a challenging and supportive learning environment for students. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Cross Country Coach to join our team for the 2026 season (August - November).
Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the cross country program, including:
Daily practices (including drills, workouts, and conditioning)
Locker Room Supervision
Meet planning and execution
Athlete motivation and encouragement
Equipment and uniform management
Travel to and from meets
Maintaining a positive and inclusive team environment
Qualifications:
Experience coaching cross country at the high school or collegiate level preferred.
Passion for running and a strong understanding of training principles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with student-athletes of varying skill levels.
First Aid/CPR certification (will need to be obtained after accepting the job)
