The human body is but a small boat
Sailing upon life's unpredictable sea
The courses we navigate
Are set by thee
-
Your anchor is set
Upon the day of your birth
And its that anchor and chain
That keeps your spirit bound to the earth
-
Your spirit has forged every link
So that you can't slip away
And a new link to the anchors chain
Is added with each passing day
-
My Father had seen many storms
His tiny ship both tossed and propelled
But always when the sea finally calmed
His anchor had held
-
Then his heart gave him problems
His color had paled
Great waves began crashing
But his anchor held
-
For nine days the sea was calm
Then suddenly the sky opened up
Wind and rain battered his ship
As great waves began to erupt
-
The stormed raged through out the night
But come morning his ship still sailed
To the amazement of many
The anchor had held
-
Hardly a moment had passed
When the waters exploded once more
His tiny ship caught in the middle
As life and death waged war
-
The sky turned as black as coal
His ship now battered from every side
The wind and rain had grown savage
There was no place he could hide
-
The angry storm was relentless
As if it were some terrible game
We thought we had lost him
When the wind howled his name
-
The weakened chain stretched to its limits
As great waves hammered every links weld
But when the clouds had finally parted
His anchor had held
-
You can call it stubbornness or fate
However your compelled
I choose to say simply
The Anchor Held !!
