Harris encouraged Americans by posting a tweet to give money to help bail out the looters, rioters, and violent protesters that caused untold damage in Minneapolis and elsewhere during the unrest of 2020. “If you’re able to, chip in now to the @MNFreedomFund to help post bail for those protesting on the ground in Minnesota.”
Harris referenced the BLM Riots as a “movement,” noting that “They (protestors) are not going to stop, this is a movement.”
During a radio interview in June of 2020, Harris praised the “defund the police” movement stating, “The idea that putting more cops on the street makes us safer, is wrong.”
Harris doubled down on this misguided approach to public safety when she said, “It is old, tired, wrong, status quo thinking to think you get more safety by putting more police officers on the street.”
In her first solo speech in 2020 as Democrat vice presidential nominee, Harris vowed to stand with the protesters in Kenosha, Wisconsin, stating, “People are rightfully angry and exhausted...it’s no wonder people are taking to the streets. And I support them.” She made this statement while businesses within the city of Kenosha burned to the ground.
