i was taught the founders were influenced by greeko roman ideas of liberty and democracy. the nutjobs running the country say judeo christian. the first amendment guarantees freedom of religion and the federal government cant impose a religion. none of the original 10 forbid states from doing so or local governments. but the 14th kills that idea.

so lets think back. some of the first people here to the new world were called pilgrims. and they came fleeing religious persecution. not from meany muslims but mean christians, mainly the church of england.

after a generation or two their descendants got themselves a case of crazy religion, again misguided christianity not muslims, and started hanging and burning witches.
