Clause 1 General Welfare

The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

i know congress has passed a few laws pertaining to tariffs but if your are going to change the constitution you need an amendment to do so.

We will see. When they outlawed alcohol they did with an ammendment not a law. When they allowed alcohol later they did with an ammendment not a majority vote in congress. You probably dont have a problem.with free speech infringed and shall not be infringed second ammendmebt if your guys goes after that.

the idiot in chief has been all on his social media proclaiming its the death of merika unless he gets to tariff whoever for whatever reason. the simple truth is things will just go back like they were and are now....trillion dollar deficits every year with stupid sayings like "this bill will shave 400 billion off the deficit in 10 years"...

The unintended silver lining of tariffs is that they are partly paid by big corporations whose owners have grown obscenely, morbidly rich.

cant be. republicans say if you raise corporate taxes then consumers will pay the tax cause corporations will raise their prices.i get so confused with the logic.
