create some new jobs by hiring people to
install cameras focused on the people n the
merchandise passing thru n using the self
check out machines, and hire more people
to be sitting in an office somewhere, nearly
anywhere in the world, monitoring all the
customers. Assign another person at the
end of the self-checkout to arrest anyone
caught in the attempt to steal merchandise
from the merchant ?

I refuse to use those anyway, even if I have only one or two items. Should be a person's job, IMO.
