Before I crank up any of my electronic devices, whether run off house current or battery, I take a moment to think about the data encoded in binary on that tiny little piece of crystal and wonder how did we ever get from paper n pencil to ink and typewriter ribbon to tiny micro chips manufactured in other countries, and do it so quickly?
