Arteta - safe through next year. Even if they win no trophies, and finish 6th, I would assume he still gets the start of the 2026-27 season. If that season started poorly, he's sacked. Kroenke's have a long leash and it had to get real bad for Emery to get axed. Attack LW-ST-RW: (new player)-Gyokeres-Saka Bench: Havertz, Martinelli, Nelson, Dowman, Jesus Sold: Vieira, Trossard Gone: Sterling Isak is the dream, too costly, won't happen. Sesko is too much of a project for team trying to win the PL and CL right now. Etitike is interesting, but I don't think he's ready for the club's ambition. It leaves Gyokeres, whom Berta admires. Fits the need of pace, finishing, and pressing. Will run endlessly. Does lack duel and aerial game. LW, I have no idea. So many names. Rodrygo, Semenyo, Eze, Kudus, Simons, Gittens, Cunha, Gordon and on and on. I think Rodrygo is too much. Eze would be a fun one, he looks ready for the next level. Cunha would could thrive in a system in which he doesn't have to do *checks notes* everything. Kudus is a good signing for future. Gordon could be a dawg. The problem i have, Martinelli is really good. He's just not great, so it's tough to upgrade on him without paying a lot. And if you pay a lot for Gyokeres, and Zubi, can you pay a lot for top LW? I don't know. 6-8-10: Zubi, Rice, Odegaard Bench: Nwaneri (10), Merino (8), MLS (6/8) Gone: #5, Jorginho Odegaard needs to be better, if not, season is going to be sunk again because Nwaneri isn't there yet. Rice is Rice, and I'm sold now for him at the 8. Was skepitical, he proved me wrong and he will continue to improve. Zubimendi is an interesting signing. He's not athletic, but he's a ball-winner. He's not a ball carrier, but he can make progressive passes. He blocks, he wins duels, he makes aerial challenges. He's going to allow Saka to play more upfield and reduce his defensive workload. I'm very interested in this midfield trio, and what the bench can offer. MLS is a future star, and he's been out of position. I think he's going to be so very good in the midfield, but tons of room to grow in his game which is scary. LB-CB-CB-RB: Calafiori, Gabriel, Saliba, Timber Bench: new LB, Kiwior, White, Tomiyasu Sold: Zinchenko Gone: Tierney I really wish Tomiyasu's body would hold up, so we could have super flexible backline with guys who could play all over. Backline is elite, arguably the best CB duo in the world. Timber is a machine. The attack is lacking on the fullbacks but I think Cala is better than we think, if his body would also hold up. Kiwior and White are about as good as you can get for backups. This group could concede the least amount of goals in the PL next season. For the new LB, I would guess a young 20s something who would be okay with not playing a ton. GK: Raya, Setford, and Joan Garcia Arteta talked about the size of Donnarumma and I'm convinced they want Garcia due to his height. Maybe not for 2025-26, but definitely for the years after. If the sales of Trossard, Vieira, and Zinko can net 40m pounds, I'm optimistic that the club could bring in a new ST (starter), LW (starter), Zubimendi, LB (backup), and GK (backup). But it's going to be tricky and a lot of the outgoings will determine how good the LW is. |
