Tons of smaller branches all over.
Everything came off my neighbor's huge silver maple....thank God they cut the big limb off that arched over our garage and 2nd story roof.
Soffit sections on my 3 season roof, in my back yard, and in my neighbor's back yard.
Lots of damage just southwest of us at the mall and tracking back toward the Rock River-saw a house basically cut in half by a old growth tree that got blown over. Tons of big limbs down on my drive to work. Apparently blew trailers over at the Fedex Freight facility in East Moline/Silvis. 5k without power earlier this morning.
Based on the fact that the damage seems to be in a relatively straight line from south of the metro, through Moline, and up into EastMo and Silvis, and most of the tree damage looks like the trees were twisted, they don't think it was straightline winds.
80+ mph wind speed measured at the airport. Previous Message
....and the look of my back yard, if there was a tornado, it tracked right over my house.
Big branches down on the deck and in the yard, and my metal outdoor chairs all got blown over. Need some sunlight to get a real feel for how bad it is, but our street and the streets to the south were covered in leaves and branches. Kept power other than a brief outage, though. Previous Message
