- Mamie Clafoutis - French bakery - lots of good choices in the city, but this is a good one
- Bagels, as mentioned already by many others. St. Viateur is the gold standard.
- Morning run, from the city to the top of Mt. Royal. Running paths and stairs, all the way up. Great workout, great view, unique side of the city
- Un Po Di Piu - restaurant in old part of city. just a lovely place to visit and very tasty
- Oysters - walk into a good looking bar that has 'em on the chalkboard outside and order a bottle of bubbles and tuck in. Montreal is my favorite place to have them, local-ish sources
- If you are into crazy shrine sites: Saint Joseph's Oratory, on the shoulder of Mt. Royal, founded by Brother Andre. I am not a religious person, but this is a major pilgrimage site for Catholics and it's pretty interesting. My dad's family is from Montreal and my great grandmother is first cousins with Andre, who was the most famous Canadian, in his day. He was canonized a few years ago.
